Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician with expertise in BHS (Board Handling System) machines for our cardboard manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining BHS equipment, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on BHS machines to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to diagnose and resolve electrical issues affecting BHS equipment performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities, including lubrication, calibration, and component replacements, to extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Utilize technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to identify, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical faults.
- Manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and components, ensuring their availability for prompt repairs.
- Monitor machine performance and conduct regular performance assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and tools to analyze and assess electrical systems, components, and circuits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives, including upgrades and modifications to enhance BHS machine efficiency.
- Train junior technicians and provide guidance on electrical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, with a proven track record of working on BHS machines in a cardboard manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, controls, and components.
- Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and ladder logic programming.
- Profound knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking maintenance activities and spare parts inventory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety and a thorough understanding of electrical safety practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Electrical Technician Certification, PLC Programming Certification) a plus.
